Shipped the SUV and flew into Tucson just as the weather was cooling and just before the elevator in the condo was to be replaced, a 2 month project, most difficult as one of our condos is on the 5th floor. The week before the move to Tucson, I sold my '69 Jag by auction at BringATrailer.com for a new record on the site of $90K. It was picked up for shipping to its new owner in CA just 2 days before we left.
The house beautifully withstood mothballing for 8 months. Every food item had been put into the chest freezer and the kitchen fridge/freezer was turned off. The food was stored so well, that we had an 8 mo old bagel the next day and it was quite fresh.
